The Experience

Welcome to SnoutAbout piggie experience day out!

The Experience

The day starts out at the Piggie Woods carpark where you will receive a warm welcome by your host  Kirsty who will drive you to the woods on the comfy seated SnoutAbout “Piggie trailer”.

As you open the gate into the woods the wholesome experience will begin and the magical trail to the pigs is filled with fun facts to read on the build up to meeting the docile Kunekune pigs, whom you will hear before you see.

You will have an introduction to the pigs learning their names before you set off on a quirky adventure over the Kunekune Catwalk, stopping at the PIGstagram Hut where you will have plenty of photo opportunies. The pigs like to pick their own route and sometimes cheeky Porridge heads off track!

You will have the chance to pamper the pigs with oil, brushing and rubbing their bellies and enjoying the sounds they make.

Once the pigs are back in their field and you are fully satisfied with your piggie time, Kirsty will guide you towards a separate area where a delicious sweet treat PIG-Nic will take place in the fabulous PIG-Nic Hut, with breathtaking views over the countryside.

The experience will last for 2 hours.

Walk with Kunekune pigs

Walking with our Kunekune pigs is set to make you laugh, smile and feel a sense of relaxation whilst you listen to the meditative grunts and “trip trapping hooves” over the Kunekune Catwalk.

Their isn’t a sound of cars or bustling of people instead it’s nature at its best and of course the pigs.

It’s a really wholesome experience and a chance to leave your worries behind for a few hours and simply just enjoy!

Our Pigs

Our Pigs are the most docile breed of pigs you can get, they thrive off human company and enjoy being touched and spoken too.

Pickles is a castrated boar and is 2 years old and is the leader of the three, he loves to be stroked but nobody has ever made him roll over for belly rubs. Penelope is a gilt and is about to have her first litter of piglets. She has a very laid back loving personality and can be shy until you ask her to roll over (quite the opposite to her brother Pickles!)

Porridge is only a year old, she is the teenager of the group and is by far the cheekiest of the three. She quite often will take off with a carrot and eat it at the far end of the woods so nobody will dare pinch it - she also loves belly rubs and can sometimes fall asleep whilst doing it.

A woman in a pink shirt stands smiling inside a wooden cabin with large windows. A table is set with a variety of baked goods on a tiered tray, a vase of pink tulips, and a bowl of bananas and apples. The cabin walls are lined with books and outside is a scenic view of fields and hills.

Afternoon Tea in the Pig-nic Hut

After walking the pigs the fun does not end there. The Pig-Nic Hut is situated in a quiet location itself with simply breathtaking views. There you can relax and enjoy the quirky piggie decor whilst sipping “Tea Pigs” Tea and enjoying a selection of tasty cakes.

There is both seating in the Hut and outside on picnic tables and if you like your fancy dress like our host Kirsty you won’t be disappointed (this is optional!)

There are toilet facilities next to the PIG-Nic Hut.
